DNF @chapter 9: It took me a second Laura Thalassa book to realize her writing style is too flat and straightforward for me. I didn’t notice it as much in Pestilence but I think that was because it felt like more of a vibe in a post apocalyptic book. In this book it is more obvious and I can’t get beyond it paired with characters that don’t reel me into the storyline. Not to yuck anyone’s yum but this author is a pass for me.
