This was such a charming and delightful little story! I read this in tandem with listening to the audiobook and I highly recommend the audiobook! It had nature sounds in the background and I was living for the soothing mood it put me in.
Audiobook quality aside the illustration were gorgeous and the characters innately lovable. I wish I had read this as a kid, though my childhood emotional trauma thanks to the scene where Toad gets locked into jail from the movie might have prevented me from enjoying it fully. So maybe it is better that I read this after therapy lol.

I’m so glad I finally read this classic novel! Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride is my favorite ride at Disneyland and as a child I loved watching Disney’s The Wind in the Willows + The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. But up until now, I had never taken the opportunity to read the story!
It’s such a fun old tale. About animals, nature and friendship. It was so nostalgic. It reminded me of a more grown up version of Winnie the Pooh. Once you’ve outgrown the many adventures of Pooh and friends, but you still want the vibes of reading about the natural world and the amazing creatures that reside there, this story can continue to feed your soul. Ratty, Mole, Badger and Toad say and do some things that are a little bit more mature than what Pooh, Christopher Robin and friends do

The wind in the willows was a book a read after a long day, it never failed to make me smile and I felt like the story was very engaging. It reminded me of frog and toad and the tales of Beatrix potter.
Yes this book is for a younger audience but I think it’s enjoyable for all ages, I highly suggest
