I love a creepy story that reads like an Urban Legend or something you’d find on Nosleep. I’ll definitely have to read KPB’s other stuff now.

I still feel sort of on the fence about how to rate this, but I am disappointed. It’s not a terrible book, but I don’t think it’s good- especially not “spectacularly good”. It’s cliche but straightforward, a short and easy read. Even the fictional candy is a translated word for cuckoo, which we are told directly. I genuinely can't see what there is to love about it.

favorite line:

“People tend to distance themselves from the insane, as if to inquire is to request an invitation to the same dance.”
