As someone with no desire for fatherhood, the scariest part of this book for me was the sudden lack of control the protagonist had on his own life. The initial confusion, shock and anger at having this child turn his life upside down felt authentic and put me on edge regardless of the kid's demonic nature :). This felt like a satisfying blend of Twilight Zone, King, Bradbury, Lovecraft, Village of the Damned and The Omen and I read it in a day.

This book was fine. That’s really all I can say about it. There’s nothing bad to say about it, but it didn’t blow me away either. I didn’t feel particularly invested in the characters and all of the concepts - from creepy child to eldritch horrors - have been done before and more effectively. A reasonably entertaining way to pass an hour or two.
