I still feel sort of on the fence about how to rate this, but I am disappointed. It’s not a terrible book, but I don’t think it’s good- especially not “spectacularly good”. It’s cliche but straightforward, a short and easy read. Even the fictional candy is a translated word for cuckoo, which we are told directly. I genuinely can't see what there is to love about it.

I was squirming the whole time I read this book. Definitely shouldn’t have read this book at night.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and couldn’t put it down.
Without giving anything away, if you’re squeamish you should probably proceed with caution
