CRAZY
INSANE
I really don't know what to say. At first, I just really liked the writing style and the story but it was really obvious who was the culprit so I didn't see where it was going in that context but DAMN. As the story progressed, the way the plot was unfolded was really INSANE. SICK, even. At first, I might have been a bit disappointed because things were so obvious but as the story went on, I realized there was so much depth to it. It was so complexly packed and so well done. I just fell in love with this book. Absolutely amazing. SUCH A MASTERPIECE!

I enjoyed the pacing of this and the shift in POV to unravel the secret of the story.  I remember my jaw dropping a few times.  Though a little slow in the beginning once it picks up it continues a good pace.

This book was incredibly well written and the characters were well thought out. It was breathtaking and I actually caught myself gasping at this books twists & turns. This is one of my favorite reads from 2022!

This was my first Lisa Jewell book and, although predictable, it was a decent read.

Laurel’s daughter went missing 10 years ago. Her marriage broke down and her relationships with her other children are pretty non-existent. She’s finally trying to get her life back on track and meets the man who can help her do so. This new relationship is everything she has needed although there’s one thing amiss - his daughter looks exactly like hers.

This was a pretty standard read for me and I was able to predict all of the plot. I’m really yearning for a twisty book but I just can’t seem to find one. This one was not it. The writing style was extremely easy and quick paced. The chapters were short which is always a bonus. I just felt like nothing surprised me - I could have word for word told you exactly what happened.

The characters were likeable and interesting enough. Because of how diverse their personalities were, I was able to form connections with some of them. Floyd’s daughters obviously stole the show. They were both highly intriguing in their own ways and I looked forward to reading the scenes they were in.

Some of the subplots I felt were not tied up. [mild spoiler] for example, what relevance was SJ’s relationship with the 40 year old? Why was it even made a thing?

Overall, I really enjoyed the pace of the books and the characters. The writing style was easy to follow but predictable. It goes down as yet another bog-standard, easy to work out thriller mystery.
