It was just not my personal favorite because of the topic. I loved the different perspective changing though!

2.5 stars. This book was overall very predictable and kind of boring. I figured it all out so quick. Also, its weird reading a book written with a British author because the grammar and words are so different. A lot of wasted space and pages. This is a quick and simple read, but honestly, a let down for a book I’ve had on my TBR for so long.

Too dark. Might need a happy book after reading this.

Then She Was Gone is a really engaging novel about the disappearance of 15 year old Ellie Mack. She was the perfect girl, pretty, smart, great boyfriend and then on her way to the library she just disappears. The story is told by multiple characters and is engrossing. The main character is the mother, Laurel and you follow what happens to the dynamics of a family when a child goes missing and through the next 10 years what that does to a marriage, siblings and mother/child relationships. As a mother, it makes you think about how you would respond in the same situation. The book has good plots twists and I liked that it was not necessarily wrapped up all neatly with a happily ever after ending.
