Reviews with content warning for Racism - One True Loves

Such a fun read and a great follow up to Happily Ever Afters. I love Lenore and her struggles with dating and finding her passion as a Black girl are very well-explored and very relatable. I saw a lot of myself in her. And the parents and her brother Wally are really interesting too. You understand what they are going through and where they are coming from that creates conflict with Lenore. The love story is very sweet too :)

lenore is soo insufferable. i can't stand her. i loved her and alex's love story, though. and wally was amazing, stan wally for clear skin.

This was SO GOOD. I was hesitant after how much I loved Happily Ever Afters that nothing could live up to it but I I think k liked it even more. I wasn’t sure if I’d like a Lenore story but I freaking loved it. She’s such a fun character. I loved all the cruise ship and travel aspects. They made for sure fun and out of the normal settings. I also love Elise’s include of such diverse characters INCLUDING biracial/multiracial main character. Love it.

This was really really sweet! Cruises kind of gross me out as a general rule but this somehow made a germ incubator on the sea incredibly romantic. It was also a perfect getaway novel, if I can’t vacation its nice to at least spend time in romantic European destinations in a book. I loved Lenore and how this tackled family pressure, mental health, and asking to be heard and to listen. I felt like this could have avoided the third-act breakup plot point, but all in all I thought this was a delight!
