It's my fav of the series

2.8/5 - the horse noises in the audiobook were excellent. narrator really committed

«your ass-y shape will fall from you»…what a line.

wasn’t super into this one—definitely a symptom of it having nothing to do w the movies. so far in the series, this book has the strongest christian allegories imo

A bit difficult to get into the characters of this one…and the Prince Cor connection totally went over the kids’ heads. But it did lead to discussions of God’s sovereignty and will, and, of course, fed our ongoing obsession with “Aslan.”

"Do you mean he would make me his wife by force?" exclaimed Susan. "That's my fear, Susan," said Edmund. "Wife: or slave, which is worse."

"I do think," said Shasta, "that I must be the most unfortunate boy that ever lived in the whole world. Everything goes right for everyone except me.

It is one of the more vague stories in this series. And I don’t really know what C. W. Lewis tried to tell here. It gives a bit more depth to the reign of the Pevensie children but also not.

It reminded me a bit of a night of 1001 tales.
