I think for what this book sets out to do, it does a fantastic job. The book serves to a) educate on what intersectionality is and how it relates to environmental justice and b) describe what the current state of things is and how to approach the problems.
The book is clear, has incredibly impactful data, and gives a robust toolkit for how someone can take their learning and activism further in this space.

really loved the argument at the opening of the book, but I wish the text would have sustained it. The last few chapters didn't feel as unique.
A good introduction to intersectional environmentalism that breaks down different concepts for those new to the topic.
As a self-identifying African-American woman, this book moved me. It was a quick read —which I enjoyed — that anyone interested in learning more about environmental racism and intersectionality can read. This book should not be stood alone though. Leah Thomas opens the door and makes it our responsibility to do more research and discover more about this topic. I appreciated that because of this, she included a PLETHORA of different resources at the end of the book for the reader. Thomas successfully gives the much needed insight on environmental inter-sectionalism that has historically been ignored, and with the rise in concern surround climate change this book was a must read!

This was a helpful introduction on the concept of intersectional environmentalism and environmental justice. I appreciated all of the additional voice the author brought in and the tool kit of additional resources to explore the ideas introduced in the work in more depth.
