Baby's first introduction to intersectionality. Wish there was more of the author's voice, not always engaging/ rattling of facts likes it's a hw reading. BUT good at changing your mindset from the dominant "save the trees and endangered animals" view of environmentalism (which is all well and good) to the effect on PEOPLE especially our most vulnerable communities who are disproportionately effected by environmental injustices.

Now having finished reading, I understand many of the reviews of this book, which include praises and some specific criticisms. Overall, a solid introduction to the topics relating to intersectional environmentalism, but it is a fair comment that those familiar with these topics may view this book as review.

The references and additional environmentalists included in the book are helpful in building up more citations, but I almost wish there were more co-authors. Generally, the author is writing from personal expertise while including many other voices - something that is appreciated, but indicative that this book could have benefitted from multiple authors or to be written as part of a larger collection. That being said, I look forward to revisiting the resource hub for the Intersectional Environmentalist website.
