such a deeply personal beautiful memoir. This includes tough topics but the author shares freely and her honestly and vulnerability makes for a compelling read.

“My mother wasn’t perfect. Our relationship is complicated. She was my imperfect mother. We were two different people, and found that hard to accept in one another.”

Eyes so blurry with tears I could barely read the last few chapters. Ashley Ford is a lovely human and an even greater writer.

sometimes while reading this i had to flip to the back and look at the authors picture just to be like "she is okay now, right?"

This book was like going to therapy.
And listening in on therapy.
And reading someone's diary and realizing part of it is deeply unfamiliar and other parts could have been plagiarized by your own diary's pages.
Ashley Ford does a beautiful job depicting an ordinary and extraordinary life. Trigger warnings should be read before this one. Loved it.
