I’ve wanted to read The Three Musketeers for years and just never got around to it. I enjoyed The Count of Monte Cristo but this was not great. I got four hours in and I very much dislike all of the main characters. DNF

Some of the intrigues were interesting, but for the most part I just had trouble making sense of the various social norms and customs. Stories about a few men getting up to various shenanigans. It can be entertaining at times, but I was hoping for something a bit...… let's say 'meatier' after having read The Count of Monte Cristo. I definitely preferred that novel to this.

Voilà un livre que j'ai lu à deux reprises. Le première était en 1999 et la seconde en 2005. Lors de la première lecture, j'avais été très déçu car j'avais trop d'attente. Je m'attendais à un livre avec beaucoup d'action. Lors de la seconde lecture, j'ai porté plus attention aux petits détails et j'avais plus de connaissance sur la France de cette époque.

Aujourd'hui, c'est souvent le livre que je recommande aux gens qui veulent commencer à lire les grands classiques de la littérature. À ce jour, ça reste encore une des mes belles expériences de lectures.
