When Vernon O’Keenan screws over assassin Liam Doughty, he decides to get the money he’s owed by any means necessary. To do this, he decides to kidnap Vernon’s only child, the Mafia Princess Brianna O’Keenan. But Bree is far from some timid damsel in distress; she has her own agenda and she’s determined to go down fighting.

Bree is smart and capable, and she wants to run the business. But her misogynistic family states that only men are allowed to rule. It is then that they come up with a brilliant solution - a union between their two families that nothing can break. Bree agrees to marry Liam so they both can get what they want, but what happens when their feelings start going beyond a business arrangement?

This was my first book by Emma Luna, and I was pleasantly surprised! I loved that despite this being a dark mafia romance, there were also a bunch of humorous moments that broke up the serious parts. This book was full of brilliantly written action scenes, and the steamy bits were fun too!

Bree. I loved that she could 100% hold her own, and she didn’t need to rely on Liam to protect her. Bree is a fierce mafia princess who isn’t afraid to do what she needs to do to survive. Her sass was on another level, and I am completely and totally here for it! Liam. He’s extremely cocky, but he has a right to be. He is both capable and ruthless, and willing to do anything to protect those he cares about. Their chemistry was obvious from the very beginning. I would recommend this to any dark romance lover.

Okay so I really enjoyed this book. My only criticism is I wanted more of Bree being in charge. Like I want to see her in power and ruling the city….

I mean it’s only book 1 so i’m sure we might see it in the other books as we follow along with the other characters.

Im hoping we see books from Kellan, Freya, Ryleigh, Evan, and Finn.

Dampometer was high i just wanted to see that rope and anal scene sorry not sorry.

@emmalunaauthor you killed it and this new cover is so pretty!!!

No. Simply no.
Let's just say that I don't like the writing style.
It just doesn't do it for me.

was not prepared for this book. It was dark and the spice was spicing. This was my first book by Emma Luna and I must say I’m the book is pretty good but I’m not 100% sure about writing style. I’m a lover of dark mafia romance and this is exactly what this is. Liam and Bree are goals. From the very beginning Bree can hold her own and the fact that she didn’t respond to the contract the way her father thought she would was gold. Liam is an assassin and works for himself. He may have kidnapped Bree to force her father to comply with their contract but he didn’t imagine that he and Bree would be on the same page. He expected a fight, but the only fight was a mutual one with her father.

You never know who your enemies are.

Liam and Bree started out on the wrong foot when Liam kidnapped Bree for payment for a job that her father had him do. This book includes kidnapping, blood, mafia elements. Bree is such as strong female character that kicks a*s. Would recommend this book. Cannot wait until the next one.

Ok... Where to start.. Black wedding is everything you thought it would be. It is dark, twisted, and filled with a little bit of vengeance.
Bree has been raised to be a lady in the eyes of her father, but on the dl she was being trained in all the ways of a man. In her world a lady is made to look at, but is not to be heard. She has been underestimated her hole life and when the moment arises for her to spread her wings she does so beautifully.
Liam is an assassin who is on a mission. A mission to get paid for a job he completed. This is where the story picks up and gets a little twisted. He devises a plan, a plan to basically kidnap the princess to get what was promised to him. Unbeknownst to him he kinda sort kidnapped his soul mate.....

DNF- I hate not finishing a book but I just couldn’t keep going. I only read 18%.

There is so much filler, background, backstory, and although I get the author trying to paint the picture of an instant attraction between the two it was so repetitive and boring.

Sorry not for me.

This was such an intriguingly dark book that takes you on a crazy journey. Liam and Bree definitely meet in an unconventional way. Their connection though is instant. They come from the same type of world and can see how significantly strong each other are on their own. They come to learn that they can be stronger together. The book definitely fits to be under the category of dark romance mafia. Bree coming from a mafia family and wanting to be in charge she is bound and determined to prove that just because she is a woman doesn’t mean she can’t run the family business. Liam is trying to gain what he is deserves. These two have to fight their enemies along the way just to gain the power they want. Bree is powerful, true to her word, and ruthless. She does what she feels is right and try’s to help everyone she feels deserve the help and can help themselves. Liam is the perfect man to not only protect her but to know when to stand by her side and let her take charge. This book does have trigger like topics that could make some uncomfortable while reading.

I definitely enjoyed reading this book and I hope we get to see more of the supporting characters and they get their own books! I do recommend this book for others to read!
