I loved, and still do love, the Alice in Wonderland movies. So there was no doubt in my mind that I wouldn't enjoy the book. It's fantastic, and beautiful, and unbelievably creative. I can't express my love enough for this book and, of course, Lewis Carroll. I can only hope that my children will love this as much as I do.

I really liked this book. I was familiar with the story but had never read it through in it's entirety. I really loved the fun in this story and my edition had wonderful illustrations. I appreciated this story very much.

Maybe I should have read this book at a younger age. Maybe I was negatively influenced by my dislike of the Tim Burton movie. Maybe I just don't have enough imagination. But, while I found some elements of the book interesting, overall it felt to free form for my liking. It seemed to random and whimsical, but maybe I'm just becoming a grumpy old man :)

I always wanted to read the original "Alice in Wonderland" and I'm not disappointed. Sure, a lot of adaptions made me even like it more then I would have otherwise but I still love to find hidden meaning in the plot.

This book was okay, it fulfilled its purpose of keeping me occupied in hospital but otherwise, it fell flat for me. It did not live up to my expectations and I enjoyed the Disney adaptation a lot more than I did this. I found Alice really pretentious and bratty, the Queen of Hearts didn't have the same villainous characteristics and some of my favourite movie characters (the Hatter and the March Hare) were boring. The story was over very quickly, which I didn't mind because I wasn't enjoying it, but there was a lot happening for the end to be what it was.

Overall, very disappointed.

The genre of literary nonsense is definitely not for me!
What a complete waste of time!
I felt like reading the ramblings of a person on drugs and even the illustrations were so ugly it was hard to look at them.
I forced myself through this book because at least it was short and I needed it for a reading challenge with my friend.
I honestly don't understand how this is considered a classic and how it ever became so well-known!
