If they don’t make this into a film I will RIOT! It is begging, PLEADING to be made into a romantic comedy. So stinking cute. The characters start out a little annoying but they grow on you so fast and the fake dating trope just does it for me in this one. Imagine if the Spanish love deception was actually good but had zero smut (we will get to this, but my thoughts require spoilers), that’s this.
It becomes a little unbelievable towards the end when they’re still both thinking they’re pretending but they’ve literally made out (come on, man! And no this isn’t a spoiler, obviously they’re going to make out) and the ending, while cute, feels rushed for the sake of ending neatly.
Honestly, if this book had any sexy time I probably would’ve given it 5 stars. And that’s saying a lot since I never give romance 5 stars.
Spoiler warning below!!!!!
It is absolutely illegal to build that much sexual tension and then have the hot football quarterback (who is NOT a virgin) tell the hot ballerina (who is also NOT a virgin) that he’s been in love with for his entire life that he wants to wait until marriage?????? Excuse me??? Is this YA?
ILLEGAL! Where is the spice 😩
