Leaving you covered in a layer of grime, as you address your biases to female predators and why society is quicker to accept they aren't as depraved as their male counterparts when in reality they are just as calculating and devious as any other predator
Being inside the head of an unapologetic, in denial and delusional female predator makes your skin crawl from the first word.
Absolutely amazing but not for the faint of heart

Truly a “I don’t support all women, some of you bitches are very dumb” book. How could you ever find anyone that’s even 5 months or less younger than you? Let alone a child. Hell bitch, hell.

Could not for the life of me picture a child in these scenes like my brain does not go there so for real this was highly deplorable

Kinda underwhelmed with the ending tbh I really expected a bigger climax but I suppose it took the more realistic angle

This book is so messed up. I hated reading it, it made me really uncomfortable! But that is the point of it so kudos to the author for finding a way to make me both like and hate a book at the same time!

i understand the purpose of exploitation of a genre and/or mode of storytelling. still, i believe the purpose of exploitation is for us to get at some truth.

this book doesn’t do that. her paraphilia isn’t the problem; it’s the fact that she’s a predator who knows what she’s doing. not once is she confronted with the fact that she a predator and murderer.

she is not even self-reflexive which doesn’t make sense because this is a woman who is extremely self aware of herself. we were inside this woman’s head the entire time and learned little to nothing about her desires. “it’s just what i like” is not a sufficient answer for WHY celeste choose to act on her desires.

i’m disappointed; my revulsion was just revulsion for the sake of nothing. my time has been wasted indeed.

Wow, that was truly disgusting.

Tampa does a great job showing the realities of female predators, and how their gender and looks can make them go about their ways completely unseen, and once they’re caught, getting lighter punishments purely because they’re women. This was horrific and hard to read, but I also think really important.

The writing was impeccable, and the portrayal of an unreliable narrator was done really well.

Please check trigger warnings before reading because this is very dark and explicit
