Omg, I devoured this book! Seriously finished it in a day and a half because I just couldn't put it down! It is a fast paced, quick read that pulls you in and doesn't let go.
This is a Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. I really like the premise of the story and the mix of a murder mystery with some romance and found family elements. And yes, there is spice in it! It's a short teaser and definitely leaves you hoping for some more in the next book ;)
Rowan is an amazing FMC! Right away in the beginning I liked her. She is strong-willed and doesn't take any shit from anyone. Not only that, but she also has a softer side that really cares about people and will do anything to help them, even if it hurts her. The other characters are just as loveable. There's different layers to all of them and I can't wait to hopefully get into more of their stories and development. Callan, oooh Callan. He is the perfect dark, broody, overprotective, sexy MMC that has major walls, but opens up a bit only for our FMC. He has a very strong sense of morality which made it easy to feel for him.
This book started off with a bang (iykyk) and pretty much continues that way throughout the entire book. I never felt like there was a lull in the book as there was always something happening to keep you reading and reading. There were several plot twists, and boy does it twist you! I am used to a certain type of shifter romance, so there was a bit of stuff that threw me off in that aspect at first, but it took nothing away from the story because I ate it up! I can't wait to get book 2 in my hands because that ending is keeping me awake! I would highly recommend this book.
