Not that I don't enjoy a purely fluffy witch romance now and then, but this one had more substance than you'd expect from the winky title.
Josh Henderson was looking for a new start, but didn't expect that this would involve rehabbing a falling-apart house or having a houseful of witches as tenants. Essie is immediately drawn to her new neighbor. Unfortunately, 300 years of back rent, an ominous prophecy, and the malevolent spirit of a witch hunter are standing in their way. Luckily, where there's a witch, there's a way.
Honestly, fantastic descriptions and a host of interesting characters and strong female characters. Josh is working through his own issues and feels a bit more substantive than the typical love interest. There are some pretty high stakes here and danger--not just miscommunications or misunderstandings. Also, a good example of body positivity and representation.
Not a bad readalike for The Witches of Moonshyne Manor or The Secret Society of Irregular Witches. Highly recommend.

I thought it was going to be a cute, witchy rom-com. It was, but the plot was overly complicated by time-traveling and weird family genealogy.
