When reading mystery books I like trying to guess who the culprit is and I got it correctly, well 1/2 correctly! i really enjoyed how Sarah details the surroundings and the flow of the book. The book was so interesting, definitely one of my favorites from her. This reminded me a bit of the Sanatorium, which I also enjoyed!

An isolated, remote island with a shady past. A storm blows in. A murderer is on the loose. Who…? And why?

I really enjoy an isolated setting- and a luxury retreat on a beautiful island was the perfect spot! I liked that this island had history, and it added to its spooky, ominous vibes.

I think I got lost in this story because there were too many characters, and they didn’t have the depth or distinctive characteristics to be able to remember them.

I guessed the motive pretty quickly, and suspected the “idea of the character”, so it did not come as a surprise when that was revealed. I think overall this one dragged on a little long- it could have had less characters, a few bigger WOW moments, and be a little less…. Complicated?
