Entertaining but it felt like once the surprise was up, the ending drops off. Entertaining for sure and worth a read.

I couldn’t put it down. Great twists and turns.

this was an interesting read!! i found the writing/format/character changes to really pull me and want to keep reading. Helen definitely seemed very oblivious throughout the book. but this did help to make it even harder to expect where it was going. i really thought that Rachel was going to be more bad than she was. i am still confused how she got the passport that serena made? i guess she just stole it.

serena was such a horrible person, and Helen literally idolized her. she was so rude to Helen, yet had everything that Helen wanted (including her husband). i was glad to see she got caught in the end, but i wish we got to see that go down!! poor Rachel actually dying. i can't believe Daniel saw her assault and looked away all because he was grimy and cheating!

When I finished this book I wasn't ready to write an immediate review because I was left floundering with all my thoughts. And because it was one of those books that had me up way past my bedtime to finish — usually the sign of a good book. What's interesting to me now as I sit down to finally write the review is that in my mind, I had rated the book moderately… only to see that my half-asleep self had given it five stars. I've since changed that to four stars because I honestly had to read a synopsis before I could remember what happened at the end of the book. I can't give five stars to a book that I cannot even remember.

Helen Trope and her husband Daniel are expecting their first baby, after a series of miscarriages. Helen is a rule follower, who is uncomfortable with anything that seems to break the image of perfection that she tries to keep around her life. So it's surprising when Helen "befriends" a loud, dysfunctional, and tactless Rachel, whom she meets at prenatal classes.

Rachel is seemingly everywhere in Helen's life all at once. This creates a strain on a number of Helen's relationships: her marriage, her once close relationship with her older brother Rory and his wife Serena, her already strained relationship with her younger, unruly brother, Charlie, and her overworked best friend, Katie.

Rachel got under my skin in a way that made it very hard for me to believe that Helen would have kept being "friends" with her, even if she was as lonely as she was. But outside of Rachel's annoying habits and constant state of appearing, there are secrets to be uncovered that will destroy a family.

Really enjoyed this book! Helen is a twit, wish Daniel’s character was more developed and was pleasantly surprised with the little twist at the end! After reading so many mystery/thrillers I thought I would have caught it sooner!

I did the audio book and loved it! Never was able to guess or assume the plot and was surprised to hear the full story at the end. I had feared the author might leave some questions unanswered but it was all laid out perfectly with an ending that gave me closure. Helen’s naive mindset was annoying from the beginning but I think the author purposely did that for underlying reasons the reader wouldn’t connect until later. I loved all the twists and turns throughout and the thorough character development the author did with each character even though we only hear the perspective of three of them. Great read!

Girl on a train this is not. But the twist on the last.page was impressive.
