Although there were some slower parts in the middle, I loved the idea of this one and I loved the way it ended. All very intriguing! I will definitely check out more from this debut author!

3.5. This was a good concept but the reveal didn't feel well executed, since it was essentially just the perpetrators explaining what they did after the action was over, rather than other characters figuring it out. The main characters were all pretty unbearable so I'm not sure I cared much what happened to any of them.

This novel centers around Helen, a pregnant woman who befriends Rebecca at a prenatal class. While initially pleased to make a friend (it doesn’t appear that she has very many), soon Helen becomes both wary and drawn to her in equal measure. Rebecca seems to show up often and randomly. Her erratic behavior implies that their meeting may not have been random after all. The story is told in different points of view but primarily through Helen. While Helen is gullible, needy, and potentially unreliable as a narrator, she is likeable and I found myself rooting for her.

This thriller will draw you in and won’t let you go. The novel keeps you guessing about who is telling the truth and who is deceiving. The story unfolds in conjunction with Helen’s weeks of pregnancy. Spliced in with the story are flashbacks ten years prior and a few enigmatic conversations. The plot builds continuously and becomes very twisty in the second half. The story is so compelling it made me impatient to find out exactly what was happening. It is a true page-turner and you won’t want to put it down!

I loved everything about this well-written debut thriller. Katherine Faulkner is one to watch!

Twisty thriller. I figured out some of the mystery but not all so I was compelled to finished to put all the pieces together. The note at the end wrapped up everything but I wish it could have been split and interspersed prior to the end. Solid debut.

Rounding up from a 2.5. Felt like it was too long trying to make you suspicious of everyone when I thought it was pretty predictable from about 20%

This book was good, but I just couldn’t stay into it while I was reading it - until the very end. The ending was well thought out, surprising, & everything was explained (which I enjoy)!

Helen meets Rachel at a prenatal class. But why is Rachel so intent on being Helen’s friend? Also, there is something off with Rachel... what more is going on than being a single, expectant mother?

Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for allowing me to read this book early in exchange for an honest review!

Love a good plot twist (and a book that actually gives closure at the end lol)
