You can have intelligent villains without dumbing down the victims. I hated Helen so very much. I haven’t encountered a female character this STUPID since 50 Shades. The writing is good, but the characters are all just cringeworthy and shallow.

I really enjoyed the intrigue. You think you know... and you do kinda know... but not really. Great character build up. One of the characters genuinely annoyed me and the imagery was well provided. It took me about 60 pages to really get into it. A great escape. By mid-book, I couldn't wait on what happened next.

Wasn't holding my interest. Bye bye

The start of this book was slow for me. Felt like it took forever for anything to happen. Once things started to happen I was hooked. So many twists and turns (some more predictable than others). It kept me guessing! The ending was so good! Definitely worth the read.

Helen's life seems perfect with a loving husband, a beautiful home, and a baby on the way. Helen still finds herself feeling alone, with Daniel always busy working, business partners with her brother, who's married to her childhood friend, who is also pregnant.

In the midst of everyone's busy schedule, Helen attends prenatal classes alone. There, she meets Rachel, a dramatically different woman from herself. Rachel, a single mother-to-be, stands out with her untraditional habits during pregnancy.

When Helen begins early maternity leave, Rachel starts occupying all of Helen's time, taking advantage of her solitude. Things take a worrying turn when Rachel appears at Helen's door, with prevalent hand markings around her neck. Against Daniel's wishes, Helen can't turn her away.

What starts as a one-night stay becomes a long intrusion into Helen’s life. Helen begins to suspect their friendship might not be a coincidence.

Enjoyable mystery! Even tho I figured out some of the circumstances, it was nice to have it all tied up.

Pretty convoluted ending.
