There's enough mystery and questions as the book opens to hold readers attention with Greenwich Park. It wasn't as suspenseful or thriller-esc as I thought it would be. And the ending kinda leaves readers standing on a damp beach, on a midsummer day. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I would've liked it better if Helen's character got more out of it in the end, even if she was pregnant the entire book; other people were in more control of her life and the things happening around her than she was.

know it is a small thing, but when your life has shrunk as much as mine has, small things take up more space than they should.

i work a 9-5 and i was till 2/3am reading this book, i couldn’t put it down because i know i wouldn’t be able to sleep till i got to the end.
Helen pissed me off so bad omg, i thought of deleting the book and smashing my phone a couple of times. i was so mad at her naivety or should i say stupidity????
but i’m glad i didn’t delete the book. i kinda saw the whole twist coming but helen really frustrated me

A taut and thrillingly twisty thriller that has fiendish plot lines that will keep you guessing to the end. Helen is heavily pregnant. After many miscarriages it looks like this baby might go to term, but she is anxious and stressed. Her architect husband is behaving oddly and there is a growing distance between them, not helped by the endless building work being done to the house. Her friendship with Serena, her sister in law, should be stronger. They went to university together. They are both expecting at the same time, but that friendship too, is struggling. Alone and miserable at an ante-natal class, Helen bumps into Rachel. Rachel is everything Helen isn't, loud, outgoing, and persistently friendly. As Rachel starts to push the friendship into territory Helen is uncomfortable with, things around her start to fall apart. What exactly is going on?

Solo voy a decir que... Tremendo.

This was an enjoyable ride and one of the more realistic (within an unrealistic genre, of course) scenarios for a domestic thriller. Def. some trigger warnings.

Not impressed.
This book was SO hard to get into. And the “shocker” of an ending? Saw that thing coming a mile away.
Overall, it felt heavy on the details and light on the actual believability of the story.
