I enjoyed Part I of the book where the author talks about his difficult childhood and a woman who changed his life through teaching him about meditation. He shares details on how to incorporate this into your own life and I slept awesome each night while reading this part of the book before bed. :) Part 2 and 3 of the book chronicle his adult life including a rise to fortune, a fall from the pinnacle, and finding the true meaning of life. These parts of the book were not as compelling as the first part of the book.

This book wasn't like I expected it to be. I thought it would focus on the 'Neurosurgeon' part of the title, so I expected it to be a story about how we can discover the mysteries of the brain through academic research or something like that. However, it was a spiritual story and when I discovered that, I almost stopped reading. I am so glad that I didn't, though! Although I am not big on spirituality, this story was still extremely interesting and worth the time it takes to read it. It gave me lots of brain food and I can't stop thinking about it. I most certainly recommend it to everyone that loves spirituality or is open to it.

Found this book when I needed it the most. Thank you Bangtan, for introducing me this helpful book.

The way the author relates his experience to the lessons he is teaching makes the book a page turner. It is really fascinating to see how meditation and faith can change people's lives, but my favorite part would be how he teaches his readers to use our power to help others instead of focusing it on ourselves only.
