I enjoyed the first section of the book better than the next section. The first section was excellent and very compelling. It shows a very clear instruction for beginning and maintaining a meditation practice.

This book wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I was looking for perspectives in brain research, why we do what we do. despite that, I found this to be a good read.

Okay, okay, I fell for this book, finished over two days while commuting. Too many simple sentences, but it pulls the heartstrings effectively.

dr doty takes us on a beautiful and empowering journey of science and spirituality as he discovers what truly makes life fulfilling: kindness, compassion, empathy, mindfulness, and love; things common to us but also often overlooked. this story is especially relevant now as we face such uncertain and tough times. covid has brought about so many emotions and unusual circumstances that sometimes it's hard to be kind to others, let alone be kind to ourselves. personally, this book is like a warm hug and also a road map at a much-needed time, teaching us that life has so much to offer if we open our hearts and give those around us, as well as ourselves, a little more love.
