DID NOT FINISH: 35%

I've tried the first book in this mafia series a few months ago, and the writing and the way characters acted/talked made me cringe so much I put it down. Multiple times (I really tried to give it a go but omg).
I decided to try the most popular of the series, because sometimes I end up liking it despite disliking other books by the same author.
Well.
Not for me.
The way the characters spoke felt so unrealistic and wattpad-ish that it took me out several times. I usually kinda like possessive MCs, but like come on, really? You barely know each other??? (I had the same critique for the first book)
And the smut wasn't even that good tbh, after they did it once, I got bored and didn't want to pick it up again, so that will be a DNF for me!

This two are the craziest couple

Wow, what a trip! These two are certainly crazier than the other couples in this series. Since I haven't read the books in order, I already knew about Gianpaolo and a general idea of why he started the war against the Triads. And since I have already read Gianpaolo's book, I already know him. Quian's destiny (or however it is written), and that gives me peace of mind.

Benito's mother, oh God help me! That woman is crazy, we really can't uninstall the "be alive" app, she is not using it correctly.

Seeing this vulnerable side of Benito was great and that it was supported by his brothers was unexpected but charming

story of Harlow and Benito

This is an arranged marriage mafia dark romance, featuring Harlow and Benito Vitale, and is book three in the Vitale Brothers series.

Benito agrees to a marriage with the Yakuza to protect his family and have a child, but things don’t go as planned. Instead of a quiet bride, he gets Harlow—a fierce, sharp-tongued man who turns his world upside down.

Omg, these two were like fire and gasoline—explosive in the best way! The jealousy, the banter, the absolutely wild levels of heat and spice had me hooked. Harlow was deliciously unhinged with his stabby energy, constantly pushing Benito’s buttons, and I loved every second of it. Their chemistry was off the charts, and the tension never let up. A chaotic, fiery ride from start to finish!

I don't know why couldn't connect with this one. I liked Ash and Gin's story, but the fight scenes and pacing felt very off to me in Harlow and Benito's story.

I feel like this book was trying to balance a sweet madness in Harlow that wasn't enough Gin's brand of crazy. Which is such a shame, because I like Harlow's character.  And Benito didn't really stand out at all, kinda a stock character
