It’s very rare I say this, but I preferred the film by far!!
That being said, it was so good in literary terms, the descriptive writing was powerful, it just lacked gripping storyline. I think there should have been more haunting to the storyline. I think more background to the children dying should have been mentioned. It also would have been nice for there to be some form of closure to Jennets storyline (similar to the film).
However, I thought the ending to the book was SO much better than the film.

Such a classic, the writing is a little stiff but this never fails to make my skin crawl. A great little book but I have to say it shows its genius as a performance - on stage or as a radio play.

Perfectly adequate but really more just sad than frightening and I found myself able to work up my feeling for the dog than the main character. I very rarely say this, but I think the movie was honestly better.
