Have We Met?

I did NOT like the narration of this and I felt it spoiled the whole story for me, unfortunately. Trying to put that aside, this is the story of a woman who finds a mysterious dating app has been downloaded to her phone. Goaded by her friends, she decides to engage with it and is told that she will cross paths again with 4 men from her past and that 1 will be her soul mate. She doesn't believe it until she begins reacquainting with men from her past that have potential to grow into something more. Things get complicated when she starts dating Cory, feeling like it's destined to fail since she still hasn't met the fourth man from the app who will most likely be her soul match.

I love Cory! He's great! I find it so funny that female authors can so easily construct the perfect man, yet their female protagonists are always lacking in some way!

As for the protagonist she is very stooche as we say in south London. Always expecting men to chase her, never giving any validation or anything in return, expecting that that WONT push a man away.

In my opinion, the 3rd act break up, or whatever its called was very valid. She pushes him away, he vulnerably reveals this has caused him not to trust her even though he is in love with her and he backs away giving her space to decide what she wants. Please explain to me why she never humbles herself and reaches out and my man forced to grovel to win her back! He is allowed to feel what he feels. This is why people lie! They know that if they share how they really feel and their partner reacts negatively, it could be the end of their relationship. I would have loved it if the author had created and environment where the 2 main characters, who are in love, feel safe enough to speak openly about their feelings without fear of it causing a break up.

3.75/5 - became a little cheesy for me at the end.

This book was okay, but it felt like too much for one book. Too many events going on that made the book longer than it needed to be. Also, I absolutely love the diversity, but once again it seemed like the author was trying to cram so many different ideas into one short book.

Will finish at a later day

Fun read!

Fun read! Interesting concept. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and would read another in a series if it exists.

This was cute, and I really liked the themes of friendship between Tiwanda, Corinne, and Elise. I found Corinne's grieving process moving, as well as her search for direction. As a character, she was well-rounded and I really felt for her and wanted her to be happy.

What held me back from liking this book more was the romance with Cory. He wasn't outright unlikable, and I very, very much appreciated the fact that he wasn't the alpha-male type, but I ultimately just didn't feel he was right for Corinne. His behavior was kind of all over the place, and he struck me as petty and a little dismissive of Corinne at times. And while I could see where he was coming from when it came to Met, I felt like he blamed her for his own insecurities over it.

I enjoyed this book, but didn’t love it like I thought I would. I feel like there were so many themes to tie together. One of the characters actions were so up and down, and didn’t match his personality as described. The logic of the MET app and the access to her phone was interesting, but didn’t make sense to me. The book was extremely inclusive though. Also, would recommend this for anyone who enjoys adult romance, but doesn’t want detailed sex scenes. I like a lil spice though, and was a little surprised when this skipped over those details.
