3.5 — The first half of the book was a little confusing. Between the strange appearance of the app, trying to understand what had happen that led to her move to Chicago, etc. The 2nd half pick up more and overall was a quick entertaing read that had a diverse cast and touched subjects like grief, quarter life crisis, founding your way in a new city, new friendships, etc.
A fun light read. I enjoyed the many connections including Chicago, ASL, and substitute teaching. I am looking forward to more from this promising author.
only read the first few chapters because i cannot handle books that deal with cancer too well but i just wanted to say i was hooked by camille baker's writing and the voice of corinne! i'm surprised i haven't heard more people talking about this which is why i'm writng a review even though i didn't finish it from what i did read i would highly rec picking this up! (i read about 20%)
It was okay but it isn’t anything I’d rave to my friends about. What I enjoyed the most was the fact it was based on Chicago. If the system let me, I’d give it 2.5 stars instead of 2.
This was a super cute read. After her best friend’s death, Cori’s life is in flux. She moves back to Chicago, temps as she figures out a new job, and now has a dating app called Met trying to reconnect her with four people from her past, one of whom is supposed to be her soulmate. She didn’t believe it at first, but Met can’t be deleted from her phone and guys she used to know start cropping up. Except… she meets someone outside the app.
I really liked this book and DEFINITELY recommend it to my adult contemporary romance fans! I was sold at the idea of a supernatural dating app. There’s an amazing group of characters and positive undercurrent of hope. Cori’s family annoys her at times but they’re so supportive and the friends she makes are the BEST.
I don’t want to talk too much about the LI cause that might be spoilery?? Just know I really liked him by the end and at one point he helped Cori with her twists and I thought my heart was going to explode.
Other book bits: seamless signing/speech transitions (Cori’s brother is deaf), game nights, scavenger hunts across Chicago, fade-to-black, queer romance, struggling through workout videos, non-profit work, grief, improv, research papers…

I think this is a very cute young adult book about friendship family and love I think that the main character developed a lot within the story especially as it is a shorter story in comparison to other books in this genre. The main character was funny and relatable as well as the a love interest was a reliable consistency throughout the book. There were many things in this book that added to the personality and character of each of the Characters in this book and I think it represents a lot of disabilities and issues that arise within younger generations and how people are perceived if they help or do not facilitate for these.
Overall I would rate this for stars as I didn’t love it but I did really really enjoy this book as it was funny and quirky and it was gonna be three stars but I did really enjoy the way it ended and the message that is brought along with it I also thoroughly enjoyed his apology message I thought this was very comedic and relatable as a young adult myself. I would definitely recommend this to someone else.

I was completely bored. The characters were one dimensional, and I didn’t care to read further to find out what, if anything, happened.
An odd style of romance but a good quick read. Good amount of tension between the characters as they worked their way around each other.
