Cute book. Fun read
funny lighthearted fast-paced

Cute and unique

This book was a bite-sized blessing in the middle of a reading slump. The storyline is cute and emotional, relatable and endearing. While the ending wasn’t entirely hard to piece together, I still wholly appreciated the journey it took to get there. This little romance is as much about trusting yourself as it is about learning to trust other people, and that’s really all I want in a modern romance. Bravo!

Good and frustrating read

It's fun to read a book that is so relatable. Corinne unduly stressed me out but I also see myself in her when it comes to doubting life choices and trying to find a fit after a devastating loss. I was worried for a bit but appreciated the good ending. Also, there were so many idea to the LGBT+ community. Though I do not identify, I appreciated the representation for those who do to see themselves in literature in a way that is growing to a level of acceptance and not creating a space of shame for non-heterosexual people.

So, Have We Met? was so cute. I was fully intending to only rate it 4 stars, but the only complaint I have is that I predicted most of the plot pretty early on... but that's what I expect from a rom-com, so I'm rounding up to 5 stars. The ending left me satisfied and grinning, and I loved Corinne and her friends, family, and love interests. The writing/narration style kept me engaged so well. I could hear Corinne's voice in my head the whole time. The app, Met, was hilarious, and I loved the Fantastic element of it possibly being sentient/all-knowing/spiritual in some way. Corinne is dealing with so much in this book, much of which I can't fully relate to, but I definitely can to the fumbling in your late-20s part, having a friend you'd be lost without, and needing help finding love. All around, this was a lovely, fun, touching, inspiring read that also happened to be a quick vacation read. I'll probably read the sequel at some point, which I heard follows Tiwanda, a fact I'm super excited about.

never ending

Slow, dragging on story. I couldn’t finish. I was confused, I didn’t know if Jo was her significant other or a best friend, until chapters later. Then Cory and Cori are attracted to each other, but Cory just broke up with his boyfriend. But I’m guessing he’s bi. So the best friend, sister of her choice and Cory role, and sexuality not being clear had me confused. I stopped halfway through the book. I did enjoy her finding friends, and getting out more.

This book brings a lot to question such as how we deal with grief, do we believe in soul mates, and how much of our parent's relationship we model subconsciously. Ultimately, this was an easy read. I loved the amount of diversity in the friend group. The difference of characters in just the core friend group. And I really enjoyed the idea of Corinne finding herself back in the city she grew up in years after leaving it. It was really nice seeing her start over again and finding herself while getting through her grief.
