This series is such a fun, easy listen.

If you are looking for a cozy, historical murder mystery with a little bit of magic and some slow burn romance than this ticks all those boxes. The narrator does a fabulous job and I think her voice fits that of the FMC perfectly, as this book is written from her POV.

The magic system is very different from what I have read before in that, those with magic can imbue items of their specification (paper, ink, leather, graphite) with their magic improving the quality of the object. The magic system isn't prominent in the stories at the beginning but seem to be becoming a greater part of the story as the series goes on. There also seems to be another kind of magic which whilst how it works has some what been explained, how it came about hasn't. I have really been enjoying that each of the books have their own murder mystery or crime storyline that they follow and is concluded by the end of the book with a larger storyline about the FMC and MMC carrying over throughout the series. The romance is definitely slow burn but sweet. The characters personalities are varied and enjoyable, each brining their own special something to this found family group.

I love Gabe and Sylvia and their friends! I can't get enough of this series. I plan to binge the Glass and Steele series as soon as I finish this one. absolutely wonderful!
