“You’re going to wear my hat while you’re riding me.” She flashes me a sultry smile. “If you insist, cowboy.”

Throw on your cowboy hats people, Ann has written a cowboy romance with characters that will steal your heart.
Perfect for fans of Wild Love and Heartless

I loved the setting of this book. Silver Saddle Ranch in Bluebell Montana sounds like a dream holiday destination.
The cottage on the ranch is the perfect main fixture for these characters. Seeing Jensen and Caleb move in with Briar and turn the house into a home for the three of them was wonderful.
I do wish we got to spend a bit more time outside of the ranch, we got to see a little bit of the town but I hope in future books we see more.

There were so many moments in this book that had me smiling and giggling. My favourite, a daring rescue under the cover of night. Where Briar and her friends try to stop an injustice.
Whenever the whole of Briar's friend group was on the page you knew something fun was about to happen. I do think they carried most of the comic relief in this book, not that I'm complaining.

Caleb stole the show, he is the sweetest little boy.
He lost his mum before the beginning of the book and hasn't spoken since. He's very shy when we first meet him. As he slowly gained confidence and came out of his shell you could tell that he was learning that he wasn't alone. They he had people around him that loved him.
I loved the scenes with Caleb and Ziggy (the goat). Those two are going to cause so much chaos in this series.

I loved Briar. Her strong nature and willpower, that way she gets things done. Superwoman.
But her letting Jensen and Caleb into her home and eventually into her heart showed that she wasn't this person who pushed aside her own feelings for other people.
I loved the scenes with her friends and their silly antics. They were a proper fun group.

Jensen went through just about every emotion in this book. Finding out he has a son he doesn't know about, moving back to his hometown, falling for his best friend's sister. But he handles it all well, proving that he can manage and is willing to give up his rich city life for his son.

I loved all the characters in this book, Mama Julie was a favourite and I hope she appears again.
I loved Briar's relationship with Heath and Walker. The brother sister relationship the three of them had was so pure.
I loved how when Jensen came back to Silver Saddle Ranch it was like no time had passed for the engagement. Heath and Walker started acting like he'd never left, Mama Julie pulled him under her wing and kept him safe.
And they all stepped up for Caleb.

Overall I absolutely loved this book and I can't wait for the next one in the series.

I liked this, but didn't love it.

It's a super cute story about found family. Between the FMC being adopted after parental abandonment and the MMC meeting his kid for the first time years after birth - this story definitely comes with an emotional punch.

Really the plot of this book is amazing. I just felt like the story did more telling me things than letting me infer it from the characters dialogue, if that makes sense. I am definitely a reader who likes to connect my own dots. I also felt like there was a lot of general repetition (not like actual repetition) where he couldn't want her, and she didn't want to admit she liked him.

Overall, I still had a good time reading this book and would recommend this for someone looking for

-city turned cowboy
-small town (like legit...everyone is in your business before you are)
-age gap
-found family

I love love love the is book. Ann doesn’t disappoint. Great characters and I am already hoping we see more of the residents of Bluebell Montana.

The banter between Briar and Charlie had me laughing out loud. “The cereal shelf?” Really enjoyed the friends’ group chat.

He wears glasses!!! This and single dad are my favourite tropes so I am extremely happy when the two are combined.

The relationship that Jensen and Briar forge with Caleb during this book just melted my heart.

When the cowboy calls her sugar. I don’t know why but it gets me every time.

This is a must read book for any fan of cowboy romances.

ARC REVIEW

The single dad trope is not my favorite, but it's books like this one that sway me. Jensen is such a good dad to Caleb, who he just found out when Caleb's mother passed away. Caleb is non-verbal since his mom passed away. Jensen decides to go back home to Montana where his "adopted" family wants to help him with Caleb. Jensen and Caleb end up staying with Briar who's his best friend's "adopted" sister. Briar is a hard-working woman who never asks for help and is grateful for all the help the Halsteads have given her. Briar and Caleb instantly connect and makes Jensen realize that she would be the perfect nanny for the summer.

Throughout this whole story, we have so many moments where Caleb gains the confidence to be the little boy he was before his mother passed away AND lots of moments of tension between Briar and Jensen. Did I mention this is also an age gap trope 👀 I loved the way Jensen and Briar fell in love. It was definitely a slow burn but when it got going...it was going. Briar's friend group added lots of banter and humor to the story. I really liked her brothers' interactions with Jensen and her friend group. Add this to your TBR if you like a sweet, emotional, spicy romance.

Thanks to Wordsmith Publicity for selecting me for this ARC. And a HUGE!!! thank you to the wonderful author for writing this amazing book. THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤

Jensen and Briar.

I loved this book and I love a good return to town and changing their life moment and with this book it was special because upon returning to town Jensen had a handsome little boy with him and he got the love his life out of it too. Things were hard at first but as he got settled he started to find himself and what he truly wanted out of life and Briar had alot to do with that as well. She herself wanted one HUGE thing and while she couldn't bring it to life on her own, I loved the fact that he listened and saw how passionate she was about it and offered to help her. That was one of the sweetest dates and moments of the book. My favorite part has to be everything Caleb especially when he said "Night dad", my heart warmed so much and I mean IYKYK but it was the first best Caleb moment, my second was the Epilogue which included two fantastic moments, my favorite is "Mama Briar" because again IYKYK! There were SO MANY beautiful moments in this book. Not to mention when they all went to New York and Jensen made it official and not only was Briar there because Jensen wanted her there but the surprise of Mama Julie and Pops showing up was so amazing. Is it obvious that I loved this book?

Overall I give this book a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. There wasn't a moment I didn't love. They both didn't want a relationship but yet they still ended up together because the connection and chemistry was just too much to resist. I'm not much fan of spicy scenes anymore but the ones here were quite tasteful with lots of dashes of dirty talking. I just loved seeing Jensen and Briar fall inlove and I don't think Amelia was selfish, anybody would've done the same thing for their child, I just wish she was still around you know. I think they would've became a beautiful blended family. The book was *chefs kiss* and before I go I just want to say that I'm here for Briar's besties; they're a whole VIBE especially in their group chat, with that name you know there IS trouble and they're hilarious. And not to mention her brothers Walker and Heath; the first is a troublemaker, I ship him with Birdie and the last is the responsibile one, I ship him with Charlie. As for Cooper, I look forward to seeing him fall inlove and I ship him with Wren. Now out of those three only one has been confirmed but the other two I'm crossing my fingers. The book was TOP TIER beautiful and I can't wait for the rest of the series.

Thank you to Ann Einerson and The Smuthood for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Single dad, age gap, brother’s best friend, small town, cowboy romance? You know I am freaking SAT!

Jensen is a work obsessed tech CEO who built his company from the ground up after escaping his childhood small town of Bluebell. When he gets the call that he has a 5 year old child, a boy whose mother just passed from cancer, Jensen drops everything and steps up to the role of father. But he needs a support system, and that means going back to the one place he swore he never would, Bluebell.
It’s here that him and his son Caleb take up residence with Briar, his best friend’s adopted sister, who he hasn’t seen since she was 10. Briar and Jensen find out quickly that they work well together, especially when helping Caleb come out of his shell, and the forced proximity has tensions rising.

Overall, this book was a solid, quick read with some emotional parts (“night, dad”) and some funny moments with a fainting goat and a chicken heist. I loved the representation of a child healing from trauma, the patience and love that was shown with Caleb being non verbal was so sweet.
I think out of all the characters Charlie was my favourite and not just for her bluntness but the fact that she had the most personality out of everyone. Both our main characters just felt a bit bland to me and all we ever heard from Jensen was that now he was a dad, nothing else mattered. You can still become a dad and have a personality outside of your children.

Anyways, if you’re looking for a more fluffy, less dramatic contemporary romance with the tropes I listed at the beginning, this is the book for you.

Obsessed. Absolutely obsessed. I loved Jensen & Briar (and Caleb)! I adored watching Jensen learn how to be a father and to show up for his son. I loved Briar being there every step of the way, showing up for both of her guys. I loved the flirty, light-hearted moments, the spicy moments, the emotional moments, the sneaky stolen moments between Jensen & Briar. I loved the Halsteads and Ziggy and watching Caleb come out of his shell. I loved it all!! So so good!!
