If it were not for the unconvincing dialogue and the ultimately pointless introduction of two characters supposedly crucial to the outcome of the story, I'd be prepared to rate this book higher. Regrettably, all it really has going for it is the conception of the BIG BAD itself.

This was one of my first Koontz novels and I’m glad I started off with this one. The mystery was interesting and I was hooked in the story. I did get a bit lost once they started introducing the other storyline with Kale. Otherwise, this was a pretty good read.
Jennifer Paige and her younger sister, Lisa, return to town to find it empty of all people and animals. The next several days they find themselves and the emergency personnel they were able to contact fighting an evil without a name. It was okay. Interesting evil, but none of the characters were stand out.
This book like terrified me. I work at a waste water recycling plant, its a 24/7/365 place and sometimes we gotta work the graveyard shift and that means darkness and silence and being isolated in that dark stillness, which made the book all the more scarier as i was kinda in the same position as the characters tho i, hopefully, didn't have something stalking me.
It messed with me so much i was terrified to go and do my rounds but i still had to do them

Como una montaña rusa. Al principio las situaciones de "terror" dan más risa que miedo. A mitad del libro empieza a coger ritmo y la cosa mejora notablemente, hasta casi el final, que lamentablemente se vuelve bastante previsible.
