Having not read the original Archie comics or having watched Riverdale, I was very intrigued going into this and I was pleasantly surprised. It had a relaxed and low-key but intriguing storyline, which was not at all what I'd expected after having heard bits and pieces about the TV show. I absolutely adored the art style and the bold colour scheme and I'm very much looking forward to continuing with this series and getting to know the cast of characters more, as I have a feeling they're going to be a lot of fun.

One of my favourite writers, with one of my favourite artists making a high school teenage drama. How could I not love this

Loved this! I grew up reading these comic digests so I was reluctant to see what they would do with the characters. Waid kept the same "feel" of Archie et al, but has given them more depth. I didn't like how the art changed through the volume, and would have loved to see Fiona Staples continue with it as her art was my favorite.

Good clean fun that I can share with my nieces and nephew. I hope the new TV show coming in the fall follows Waid's story.

It's still very much Archie, but moved into the modern age. It's not unnecessarily dark or preachy. It's just Archie if he was a teenager in the 2010's.

Up until a few months ago, I had no idea what Archie was... I mean I kinda knew that it was a "classic" comic series, but didn't care for any reboots. Things are very different now, because I devoured this, and now I'm incredibly interested in all these characters and their story lines. 5/5

(also Fiona Staples is a godsend and the art style change after issue 3 (?) really made me sad lol)

I read the first issue of this when it first came out and watched the first season or so of Riverdale - but I just want to say how great this update is. It keeps to the original feel nicely, even while making it more relevant to a modern audience.

I’m a big fan of Riverdale and when I saw these were illustrated by Fiona Staples I knew I had to give it a read. The artwork by Fiona Staples was stunning. Annie Wu took over for issue 4 and Veronica Fish from issue 5-6.
I really really liked this!
