I've read quite a few Sariah Wilson books that I have absolutely loved. They are definitely all clean contemporary romances, which can sometimes bore me but typically she does it in a way that keeps me on the hook the whole time. Sadly, this one did not do that for me.
Savannah Sinclair knows how to hold a grudge. She's been holding onto her anger towards her former best friend Mason for so long she doesn't know anything but disdain for him. He stood her up for a high school dance and spread a rumor about her and things were never the same. Now that he's back 6 years later in their Florida hometown, all that resentment is right there at the surface, but confusingly enough, her twin sister and best friend both tell her Mason only has eyes for her. When he asks her to hypnotize him for an article, she reluctantly agrees and everything changes. Savannah has to admit to herself that her feelings aren't as black and white as she thought.
I got bored. Ugh. Savannah struck me as incredibly immature for a 24 year old woman. She kept hanging on to things, which I kind of get, but the jumping to conclusions and running away was just so childish. I found her slightly annoying. There were some incredibly romantic moments in this one though and I'd say Mason salvaged this one for me.

DNF @ 51% after having to slowlyyyyyy push through after like 20% or so. Got through Amazon First Reads, glad I didn’t read it until now. The characters felt really juvenile and I think they’re supposed to be in their mid 20s? I’m not entirely sure. I have zero idea what’s happening in the plot and haven’t had an idea for a long while
I'm really glad I got this book for free.
Savannah was so incredibly unlikeable and we, the reader, have to suffer with her thoughts the entire time.
There is also a plot line in this book that is about a male teacher sexually abusing female students. It is used entirely to move the plot along! Once it's revealed there is no discussion on how it effected them, just a few lines about testifying that it happened. That did not sit well with me.

A clean enemies to lovers romance. Miscommunication is one of my least favorite tropes and it takes most of the book to clear this one up. But it is a quick fun read.
I was intrigued by Savannah being a hypnotherapist and helping her clients overcome issue with hypnotherapy. Mason is adorable. I chuckled at the idea of adult twins switching places and tricking their family and friends.
Just an easy writing style that made for a quick entertaining read.

This was my first read by this author and I enjoyed it enough to definitely pick up her books in the future. It is a lighthearted read but still hits on some serious topics. I enjoyed the slight mystery of the conflict between Savannah and Mason, though I really found the synopsis to be a spoiler. Without Mason’s point of view, some mystery on his end may have made a better story. It’s not really a complaint of the book - more a complaint of the synopsis. If you haven’t read that yet and don’t like spoilers, I would avoid it.
