U know given how much August hated the orchard and the damn town, I’m pretty sure he wld have handed the orchard over in a heartbeat, if they had just asked for it… then the book wld have ended in one chapter

Tldr: the whole town went psycho on a bunch of teenagers cuz they wanted the apple orchard to themselves.

I mean the writing is beautiful and the mystery was intriguing AT FIRST. But then the big reveal was so lackluster and boring. I saw it halfway through and idk the whole book was just sooooo boringgggg. I think I’m currently in a reading slump lol given the slew of subpar books I’ve read sighs

Summary: Lily died because she was a crazy bitch who wanted August to herself, so she did some black magic shit to try and kill Emery (whom August was in love with) but failed and killed herself instead. August set the orchard on fire cuz he was sick of being abused by his grandfather (i mean come on, dude even set the damn orchard on fire, y’all really think he wanted it meh
