I was disappointed in this book and have been a fan of the series. I felt like Lisbeth was an after thought to the plot. I also felt like the whole Faria story was just thrown into the mix because there was no substance to the main story line.

Way too many new characters, Lisbeth & Blomquist were essentially secondary characters. I was confused and annoyed with at least 3/4 of the book.
OK I will start my review in a similar way to my review of "Millenium 4" by the same author. As a stand alone thriller this is a decent and enjoyable book. For those wanting an extra Stieg Larsson book, you're going to be disappointed.
On the plus side we get to spend more time with the excellent characters that the original author created including the always amazing and uber cool Lisbeth Salander. Other positives include learning a bit more about Lisbeth's past, in my opinion it is better than the previous novel and the story threads were interesting and relevant.
On the down side I didn't feel that the two main story lines meshed together very well, some of the characters were a bit weak and forgettable and there wasn't the density of intricate plotting that I so loved in the original trilogy.
That said if you try and read with an open mind and without comparing all the time (difficult in my case) it is a good thriller and just about did enough to make me interested in a sequel.
