This series has been really hit or miss but this one was super cute!

I hate to love Holt! The Strike Out is the perfect blend of romantic comedy, not to mention witty humor that'll have your cheeks sore for days. Holt is one of the douchiest (if that's a word) characters I've read. Don't worry, he always ends up redeeming himself somehow, although there are moments I just want to hit him with his own bat. I appreciate when a story has minimal drama, so the focus is more on the relationship development. Harmony and Holt own my heart completely! With clever dates that will make you swoon, witty banter, and off-the-charts chemistry, this book is another must-read from the amazing Meghan Quinn!

I... I just- I can’t believe I finished all the books that are out from this series already. 7 books, 7 days... I’m gonna be so lost tomorrow when I wake up and don’t have another baseball boy to read about.
Holt Fucking Green. This dude right here. He’s just pure brilliance. His hotness, his fast-as-hell comebacks, his sexy wit... he’s just the perfect package. He’s so genuine, honest, real, and sweet... I was just absolutely floored by him and his character. Seriously. I was just stunned. Like I was obviously expecting to fall in love with him, but his charm and quick mouth really did me in so fucking fast. I got whiplash.
Harmony was such a breath of fresh air. She was spunky, didn’t take to Holt and his charm right away, and made him work for it. Which was absolutely divine to read about Holt having to work hard for her attention. Absolutely. Divine. She was driven and hardworking and opinionated but also was so confident in herself that she didn’t change herself for Holt. It was so great to read about her.
Not gonna lie, I was dead set on this being 5 stars one chapter into this book. But then my least favorite thing that happens in romances happened and I was like goddamn it.

Finally a book in the series in which they don´t break up for a long period of time, loved the hint at the eight year time jump in the first book and how awful it was, pure torture for us readers.
They really were meant to be together, they´re maybe my favorite couple in the series, top 3 easily. Both their relationships with their parents were amazing, loved that there wasn’t any major drama, sometimes you just need a happily ever after with no setbacks.
Been waiting for this book ever since I read about Holt in The Locker Room and how engrossed he was in his phone, I knew there would be a killer story.

Holt is here and I have been all up in my feels about this book. Meghan Quinn broke her patterns with this book and any predictability or expectations I had went out the window. Holt is a rich athlete, but he is not spoiled in the slightest. He has a strong work ethic and doting attentive parents. Harmony, comes from a happy family as well, loving hardworking parents in Nebraska. She has worked for everything she has and is determined to make her dreams come true. There is a little bit of Instalove in this story, but it's more insta lust. Holt is persistent and determined to break down Harmony's walls and bury himself in her heart (well, and other places). Their banter and connection is entertaining and made me laugh out loud.
This story had a lot of Easter Eggs and Meta-moments from other books in the Brentwood series. Meghan Quinn pokes some fun at herself and her writing patterns which I found completely endearing and amplified my love of her and these characters.
This book is not without fault though. I found Harmony's character to drastically change about 2/3 of the way through the book and her and Holt stopped communicating the way they did in the beginning. This lead to some avoidable drama, which is why it was not a 5 star review for me. That said I loved getting to see pieces of the other characters in the #towelbrigade. Holts story runs along the same timeline as The Locker Room and Knox and Emory's story. So while this is a complete stand alone, I think I got more out of it than other who have not read Knox, Carson, and Jason's stories.
I am always glad to spend a little time at Brentwood and in the Locker Room. Maybe it's time for a series reread in audio? Definitely another great addition to the series.
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily give my review.

HOLT!!! Urgh never have I loved a male protagonist more. The guy is everything! The first 30% of the book is him chasing harmony and I’m here for it. Couldn’t stop smiling from all their funny banter. It was beyond adorable. I like how he calls his dad after his date and they have this whole convo about harmony it was such a cute scene. And the scene where he pitches up outside her house with a flower…sigh! Scene where she meets Carson and his all nervous it’s so cute. Who knew that I would love this characters obnoxious comments so much
4 Stars.... Because I hate when I'm 70% into a book that I just cant put down and then something happens and I'm just like nope don't like that and then I struggle through the Rest of it... This book had so much promise to be epic. I just thought the twist 70% in was not engaging. Also Holts temper seemed unjustifiable.
Favourite QuoteS:
“You know what they say . . . hate often turns into love.” Harmony snorts. “Ha, okay. Yup. That’s what this is, the start of the greatest love story of all time.” “I’m glad you see it that way too.”

OK, I'm rereading this and decided to edit this review.
Harmony. She is my least favorite of all Meghan Quinn‘s leading ladies to date.
I didn't like the fact that she seems to be hiding behind the fact that she has been dealt a bad hand in life, and was then judging and criticising everyone who is luckier - but, at the same time, she claims she wants to be a journalist and write about the good in the world.
Holt is a sweetheart, but I don't really get why he is attracted to her apart from the physical aspect, basically begging her to go out with him, being charming, kind and understanding ... but she is kinda mean. All in all, not my favorite of the Brentwood series, but maybe I'm not being objective because I can't relate. Therefore no rating.
