Excellent end to a series, even though I wanted these stories to continue. What a perfect series for everyone, but especially reluctant readers.
I’m so sad his was my last lap with the Track series but loved the power of this book and how it all came full circle. Can’t wait to see what Jason Reynolds has coming up next!
Being the final book in the series, I was so impressed in with how the stories of all four books in the Track series come full circle. This book, Lu, might be my favorite book of the entire series, but it certainly would not have the impact that it does without the three books that came before it. This will definitely be a series that I recommend to students going forward.
Yet another enjoyable book in this series. There is a lot more to these stories than I ever expected.
Was not expecting another new baby story and it didn't blow me away as much as book 3, however, I found myself really curious about how he could wrap up the series after the way the other books ended and was happy about the way things worked out and the way loose ends were tied up.
Oops, I set this aside for months, while I got other reading out of the way. I am a big supporter of the series, but the first half of the book failed to grab me. I will say, as I finished the final pages today, waiting interminably at the Apple store, the ending delivers. I had to shoulder-wipe my eyes among all the red shirts. It may have felt a little cheesy, but it worked for me. Better than the cheesy ending of FRONT DESK.
Toss up between this and Ghost being the best of the series. This book, and most of the series in general, does a very good job of interweaving real life scenarios with track. For us the track is a backdrop, but for the characters it's a driving motivation.
At least, the people that are there.
By the time you've arrived at Book 4 of a series, the need for background info is slim. Toward the end, showing up at the basketball count and reading the letters -- the story packs a lot into a small space. As an author I may have neglected that scene, but my experience is different.
If this isn't the best of the four, it's right next to Ghost. Palpable authenticity.

I felt just like I did at the end of the Logan Family series (Mildred Taylor) when I finished this series. I felt like I knew the characters well and didn't want to part with them.
Reynolds crafts a memorable finale for this captivating series (that would be great for reluctant readers particularly).

Loved this series, love Jason Reynolds writing and his message to the world!
