Very nearly a perfect book. The only reason I subtracted from my rating is because sometimes I found the “I know this thing that I have never seen before, because the women have told me about it” a bit far fetched.

But ignoring that, this book is just something else entirely. Full of existential questions, and not very many answers.

T E A R S .

It's been a long time since a novel made me cry and this book had me feeling emotions I didn't know my grinch heart could experience. The final line alone left me broken for days. If you're interested in a short book that challenges you to consider humanity, womanhood, the things that make us who we are set in a post-apocalyptic landscape that seems to never end then I HIGHLY recommend this read. 4.5 out of 5 ⭐.

The prose was breathtaking, but overall the story was repetitive (which it was supposed to be). The dystopian setting was compelling and I am not usually the type to need questions answered, but like damn, not a single one was. This book was also very grim and maybe not far out from really happening.
