I sobbed so hard with this. I love everything about this book, that it makes me ponder on humanity as I was going through it. Devastation would be the greatest depiction of what this book brought to me. I want to staple each and every word from this piece into my brain. Please read it.

It's been a long time since a novel made me cry and this book had me feeling emotions I didn't know my grinch heart could experience. The final line alone left me broken for days. If you're interested in a short book that challenges you to consider humanity, womanhood, the things that make us who we are set in a post-apocalyptic landscape that seems to never end then I HIGHLY recommend this read. 4.5 out of 5 ⭐.

I Who Have Never Known men is a feminist dystopian tale from the 90s that starts with questions and ends with questions, all asked and attempted to be answered by the main character who has no name and is only referred to as “the child”. She is the youngest of 40 women trapped in a cage, in an unknown location, tormented by unknown men, for unknown reasons, until one day…. They’re not.
This one kept me reading in hopes of figuring out what was going on, and what felt at first felt like your normal dystopian quickly turns into a speculative story about what it means to be a human. I loved this one and am still thinking about it!
