I think the narrator was a really interesting and well written character though. Most of the other women seemed kind of flat to me on the other hand, which I thought was sad because going into this book I expected strong female characters.
Overall this was a good book, but it just didn't stand out to me and it's probably not something I will think about for a long time.
I am the sterile offspring of a race about wich I know nothing, not even whether it has become extinct.
Perhaps, somewhere humanity is flourishing under the stars, unaware that a daughter of its blood is ending her days in silence.
There is nothing we can do about it.

I need time to digest this book, but wow.
The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because there are questions still unanswered (which I guess it’s the point), but I still would have liked some answers
Very introspective book, questioning the meaning of life and what it means to live. The pacing reminds me of “The invisible life of Addie la rue” where in both books you’re basically following these women through the years and what happens to them
I really enjoyed this. So much so that I read in one sitting and that doesn’t happen very often

It’s desolate. It’s upsetting. It’s isolating. You feel the despair radiating from every page and yet somehow kind of hopeful as well. The main character and her determination to keep going is quite something to behold.
It’s really got me thinking about the concept of freedom and how knowledge - of who we are and where we come from - is perhaps one of the biggest freedoms that we often take for granted.
There’s so much I can say! About human relationships and resourcefulness and womanhood. But I don’t want to ruin it.
It’s going to sit with me for a long time, that’s for sure.
