I had seen this all over BookTok and I am easily influenced so I bought a copy immediately when I saw a copy at a book fair šŸ˜‚

Iā€™m puzzled by this one. I could not put it down, even though it explained NOTHING (e.g. why were these women trapped in the bunker?!). I was upset by some of the more graphic scenes (which Iā€™ll detail in the content warnings below), but still wanted it to keep going šŸ˜³ Literature is so powerful.

Iā€™m giving this 3.5 out of 5 stars. Iā€™d recommend it if youā€™re looking for something with a Margaret Atwood energy. Fascinating!

I really loved this book. It gave so much room for reflection and questioning yourself and what it means to be human. It leaves me speechless.

Some thought provoking statements throughout the book!
Intriguing story that gave me darker ā€œunbreakable kimmy Schmidtā€ vibes. Thereā€™s no real answers to why the women are held, where they are, etc which I didnā€™t love or hate. It made sense for the story to not give us answers but I donā€™t always enjoy books like that either.

I enjoyed it enough, and can understand why others love the book. Itā€™s a character driven book and the pace of the story jumps around a lot through time, skipping years at a time. Overall not a bad book and one I may dwell on for some time!
