I finished this book in about three intense hours of ‘only one more chapter’. The tension is gripping and I just had to know what happened next. The story is imbued with sadness and softness, like a warm hug after a good cry. And cry I did, at least a couple times. I recommend tissues at the ready when you reach the end. But then again, I am a crybaby reader.

It was basically an enjoyable read. Cute. I’d say it was cute with mildly creepy moments and a predictable but ok ghost story and predictable and ok love story. All around totally ok book.
Blair travels to Hartwell Hall to help rid the massive house of the unsettled spirits plaguing its family and guests, but her efforts are hampered by the family's bitter elderly patriarch and Felicity, a skeptic that vexes Blair even as she attracts her.
A Haunting at Hartwell Hall is a compelling novel with unique characters, an eerie and poetic sense of atmosphere, and a cunning mystery. Blair is a funny, sensitive protagonist and her unlikely connection with Felicity, the reserved and strong-willed daughter of the manor, is entertaining to watch unfold. That budding romance, alongside the quest to unravel the secrets at the core of Hartwell Hall, make the story impossible to put down.

This is a wonderful short read about a paranormal investigator who gets hired to check out the mysterious goings on at Hartwell Hall. There's a spooky atmosphere, rude family members and a touch of romance to create a powerful and emotional haunting story that I couldn't put down.
Fantasy mystery, in the "maybe ghosts are real and speak to you" category. It was kinda cute, with a side of romance. Maybe a bit short on details in places. Still, I would read more with this main character
