the "im so tiny" and "oh hes so big" is making me sick, i just imagined she was 5'9 because she was giving tall vibes idk.
the plot was soo predictable, i knew from the start levi was whatever username on twitter and that guy was shady.
the sex scenes were weird, like ajsja "open your mouth" and "good girl" boy what the hell...

i enjoyed the love hipothesis wayy more.

this book is basically 'the love hypothesis', but in a different (and more annoying) font. the marie curie trivia was a nice touch at the beginning, but there were times throughout the book where I felt it was excessive. same goes for the millenial humour and pop culture references...

bee had a super interesting profession, so it was nice to see her...actually doing science-y sh*t (this is something i feel was lacking in tlh). however, i found it hard to believe that she would be so...dumb in other aspects of her life? from self deprecation to the way she dragged out the jokes about levi hating her, she was a cringey character and i hated to see her put herself down repeatedly :(

levi felt very flat, but i will say, he and bee had great chemistry. awkwardness and overemphasis on size-difference aside, the sex scenes were hot idk

the entire third act was kind of a mess, and the reveal of the antagonist completely changed the tone of the whole book. after that, it was hard to get back into the groove of the story. yet, i'm still willing to give 'love, theoretically' a chance. if i don't like it, it may just be a sign that ali hazelwood's work isn't for me.

I love a good old fashioned “I thought he despised me but really he was just an angsty anxious hall of unrequited pining” and so does Ali Hazelwood so in an absolutely predictable turn of events I loved this book.

Bee is a neuroscientist feeling stuck in her career after a catastrophic breakup began what feels like a relentless spiral downwards in her personal and professional life. Then she gets tapped to lead the work of her dreams at NASA…with a former classmate…who is actually her co-lead. Levi is my favorite kind of hero - brooding but absolutely polite and flustered the whole way through. These two are a match made in heaven and everyone knows except maybe Bee.

If you read The Love Hypothesis, expect mostly more of the same, although I do think this one is slightly better. I maintain that Olive & Adam were well work a healthy suspension of disbelief required to surpass some of their public interactions, but Bee & Levi are much more reserved publicly as their relationship evolves, and privately…Levi is everything.

All the stars because the main characters are vegan!

Love on the Brain was a fun read with a hint of mystery. I really enjoyed the development of Bee's and Levi's relationship; once they finally communicated with each other. They make the cutest couple - although I do agree with most reviewers, Levi looks an awful lot like Adam from the Love Hypothesis; Levi just has a better personality.

My favourite part of Love on the Brain was the evil villain subplot; it added a sense of mystery. However, that ending to the subplot was way too rushed for me. It would have been good to delve into that background a bit more. Especially since it involved some of the serious topics many people who don't identify as cis-male face every day.

I think the reason I like this book so much is because Bee and I are basically the same person, I’m just the dumb version of her. We both faint, overthink and have had similar experiences in life. I felt seen and not alone anymore. So thank you Ali Hazelwood for creating her. I think I preferred this book to The Love Hypothesis. I loved Bee and Levi together. I love the side characters and their stories. I didn’t expect the plot twist. The only thing I didn’t like was all the pop culture references, but that’s not enough to put it down a star. If I did half stars it would be 4.5 but I don’t and it’s more of a 5 than a 4 so 5 stars it is.

Ali’s last book was what got me back into reading for pleasure, so I was very excited for this one to make its debut and to read it. And I enjoyed it a lot! Well written, steamy intimacy, and interesting subject matter. However…it was a little TOO predictable. I’m pretty oblivious; I don’t guess the ending often, or figure out plot twists until they are revealed. But I figured this one out immediately. Which was a bit of a bummer. Thankfully, there was still a wild plot twist that I didn’t consider even once! So…4 stars. Side note - Bee irritated me a lot. Because she’s oblivious, like me. It was excruciating at times. But I’m trying to be sympathetic to her trauma. Trying.
