I still love Agatha Raisin, but this book was not best of the series. The mystery was good, but the resolution was not satisfying to me. I also miss Agatha's antics. Charles talks about how much fun Agatha is, but she doesn't act like she is a lot of fun.

There were some odd sentences that I had trouble deciphering and the characters felt like they were going around in circles. The book ended on a similar note as the previous book. I would love to see Agatha and Charles's relationship develop, but they seem to be stuck.

I will join the list of readers who are outraged at the lack of editing. I also agree that this was not the Agatha Raisin true fans know and love. Whoever is responsible for sending this to print should be fired on the spot. MC Beaton deserves to be remembered as a great storyteller who would never allow a book of hers to be published with grammatical errors and a disjointed storyline. Shame on Minotaur Books. I want my money back!

Oh, Agatha, is it possible for you to stay out of trouble? I hope not because I love reading about the adventures and misadventures in your little corner of England where the murder rate is obviously off the charts.

Just boring, badly written, nonsensical plot.

This is the worst book I have read in some time. I honestly don't understand how Agatha Raisin can make it through the day. Or how her friends deal with her idiocy. She acts like a 14 year old that drinks and smokes. Falling head over heels every other day for a new man.

Main character issues aside, the writing leaves a bit to be desired. Everyone magically eats at the same restaurant at the same time so they can confront one another. And the Bishop has such strong sexual charisma that every woman in the country is in love with him.

There was no immersing the reader into this world. It was more of a checklist of badly thought up plot points. I will not read another mess by this author.
