I love Fredrik Backman, but this was so much heavier than i expected. Make sure to check the trigger warnings before reading, because it is the main focus of the book.

this story carved a hole in my chest. no I am not okay. yes this story is 5 stars. I don’t even like hockey!! i’ve thought about hockey throughout my life max four times. but this story will stick with me forever. this needs to be required reading for all high schoolers and men in sports. write it into law. i’m demanding it!!

Definitely my favorite book by Backman so far, and also definitely the emotionally heaviest one. It's been a while since I've cried this much while reading a book, but there definitely are good reasons for it in this one. Man oh man. Very well written. Interesting characters you love to love and love to hate.
