lord, what can the harvest hope for, if not for the care of the reaper man?

Some of the humour felt slightly more forced than pratchett as his best but still a great one overall, and I love The Death of Rats.

The satirical style of Pratchett never seize to amaze me. I've had so much laugh reading this one. The Death must be my favourite Discworld character. It has reminded me how ridiculous are wizards on the Discworld. Great read as always.

SpoilerI dunno why but I have a feeling that Hoid from Cosmere is based on the DEATH character. I might be wrong.

Read this at the right time, just after the death of my mother, and it was the perfect choice, especially given I've inherited her Discworld collection and the copy I read was hers. It's a reread for me, but it's been many years since I last read it so remembered little. I love Death the character so much, and despite the fact that this plot hares along with its absurd shenanigans caused by the fact that Death is missing, it also offers plenty of quieter, introspective (as well as amusing) observations about life and death, mostly in Death's signature reassuring capital letters! It was a hard book to put down.

Fun read, but I was so confused half the time

I am working my way through his work. Currently on the Death novels. Gods, I feel like I'm missing so much of his subtlety, his puns, his word weaving and still I love it. The emergence of the Grim Squeaker. Is all I'll say.
