Death of Rats my personal fave character, but I loved the narrators' voices for Death and Miss Flitworth. I really enjoyed this one, especially with Bill Door finding a purpose in life and Windle finding the purpose of death.
Pretty much a DNF although I did skip some parts. The start of this was amazing. Like the first 70 or so pages were Pratchett as I knew him. But the way this story was in told… I was not feeling it. I didn’t like 2/3 of the arcs we were following and the 1/3 of the book I did enjoy was really muddled down by all of this. Gonna take a break from Pratchett for a bit. Was really excited but and super let down.

I loved it! Coming from Mort, this is a less action focused part of the story, and it's more about messages spread throughout the book.
About death, community, kindness.

3 stars exactly. Unchanged. Which is odd because normally a reread triggers a change in the rating..
There's a lot of classic Discworld charm here. The city storyline is a little odd, but I guess the mall phenomenon was era appropriate. The wizards make for ridiculous dialog at times but can be slightly tiresome as characters.
The ruminations on life, on belief and even on the swing riots was a lot of fun to read.
I'd have given this four stars for death itself. Perhaps dovetailing with personal crisis isn't the way books are meant to be read. Rather than rounding fractionally upwards or downwards this left me feeling rather empty. At any rate, I'll just crib a line from the book rather than expel more of my own thoughts:
> There was never anything to be gained from observing what humans said to one another —language was just there to hide their thoughts.
